Who: Girl Scout Troop 66
What: Outdoor Activity: Hike RIVER EDGE TRAIL at Shark River Park
When: Sunday, October 22, 2010. Meet at 2:00 p.m. for PROMPT departure. Trip duration approx. 3 hours.
Where: Meet at First United Methodist Church. Troop leaders/volunteers will drive girls directly home afterward.
What to bring: water bottle, trail snack, something waterproof to sit upon. Back-pack to carry your stuff so you can keep hands free.
What to wear: Dress for weather; it will be chilly and muddy (so sturdy, water-resistant shoes). Also recommend you don't wear your best clothes. Cost: No charge, but bring some snack money for a likely stop on the way home, depending on driver's plans.
What to expect: River Edge trail is literally along the Shark River bank. There are lots of exposed roots, large steps, steep inclines, fallen logs, slippery moss, narrow and rutted tracks, etc. This is a trail with an "obstacle course" feel at times. Total trail distance is about two miles.
